HMS Severn

Hms Severn is seen in Leith yesterday (Tuesday 21st August) following a visit by both the First Sea Lord Admiral Sir George Zambellas  and FOSNNI Rear Admiral Chris J Hockley.

Whilst photographing Severn I noticed that both her name and her home port have been blacked out, this is because the Royal Navy have now purchased (and own outright) the three River Class Patrol Vessels from BAE.  Under their previous agreement the ships were leased to the Navy and although in the hands of the RN, they still were classed as merchant vessels. (See my last picture).

Hms Severn is the second of three River Class Patrol Vessels.
